winding down
September 2009 |
|
When we opened the gallery 8 years ago we never really had a business plan. It was while having a cup of coffee at Indigo the idea came up to open a small gallery in a studio. At the time there weren’t any galleries who really wanted to show case emerging artist so we figured it had potential. We quickly discovered there is an awful lot of lifting, carting and schlepping involved. You need a strong back and a relentless passion to show and sell artwork. But it came as a surprise that it never got easier. So as some of you know we have been in the process of winding down the gallery. We are now in the last stretch and will be vacating the gallery premises as of August 30th. The gallery web site and phone number will be working. An office at home and consulting in this business seems to make a lot of sense. So the gallery is just changing, we want to continue to help you find terrific art by new artists and our favorite established artists, but we are going to take a break for a while.
To all our artists we can't thank you enough. You made the gallery. Please keep in touch and let us know where you are and what you are doing. We will keep you all posted as to where we are and what we are doing. We love hearing from you.
best regards

DARLING
|
|

galerie sandra goldie is delighted to present - Darling -16 new small painting by Frank Caracciolo.
They are gorgeous.
Created with passionate gestures, they are refreshing, full of colour, open and engaging. Some of them are hot, some are cool but they all shine like jewels. There is a clever combination of old and new in these pieces. The shiny resin seals a surface that looks like old world fresco or contemporary graffiti.
A beautiful accessory for any room, they are a perfect gift. As there are only 16 this time we would like to recommend you come by and reserve yours.

Summer Holidays

After living in Montreal for almost 20 years I am slowly beginning to understand the Latin sensibility. I have had some people tell me Montreal is all about the past, this may be, but I think it is about the senses. You adore appeasing the senses. You love looking good and dining out! You enjoy really good food and wine. There are so many great places to eat here.
So here is a thought. What about expanding on this pursuit of pleasure and please your eyes. What about using a small percentage of that budget for entertaining and use it towards the purchase of good artwork. Appease your sense of sight. Think about it, you can spend hundreds of dollars on an evening out and its gone forever, but art can please you every day.
